Minister Ostrc at the Bled Strategic Forum: Innovative Medicines Are an Investment in People’s Health
SLOVENIA, September 1 - The minister emphasized, that investments in health and innovative treatments should not be viewed merely as a cost, but rather as an investment in people’s health, the sustainability of the healthcare system, and society.
He centered the discussion on three key pillars—availability, accessibility, and affordability of medicines. According to the minister, these form an inseparable whole that ensures scientific progress reaches every individual.
“Our goal must be to shift focus from the cost of medicines to investing in treatment outcomes,” the minister said. Innovative treatments can, in fact, not only improve patients’ health and quality of life but also help reduce the long-term consequences of disease, hospitalizations, and other costs.
